Colorful Eggs

Teelin was a good boy this morning and took a nap IN HIS CRIB so Monet and I took full advantage and made a colorful mess of the kitchen table and our fingers dying Easter eggs. Monet's hands are still blue after numerous hand washings and a good 10 minutes of playing in a sink of warm sudsy water. Oh well it was worth it!

Sun!!

What a lovely day Saturday was and we took full advantage of it by playing outside and letting Teelin play in the grass a bit. Here are some smiley shots dadda Doob got!

Monet of course was into the warmer weather as well and even took off shoes and socks to feel the grass and cold damp ground. It didn't last long!

Baby Food and Half a cake

Baby Teelin has reached the exciting 6 month mark and this means a couple things. One, I started making homemade baby food again and doing so reminded me how much I enjoy the process. There is just something about making homemade organic pureed fruits & veggies (and other yummy things in the coming months) for my babies that stirs good feelings inside me. As you can see Monet jumped into the process and helped clean out the sweet potatoes from the mini food processor for me. Teelin TASTED the puree. He really didn't EAT it. He is more into playing and gnawing on the spoon. Still getting his daily meals from Mamma.

Two, we stole an idea from friends Michelle and Poncho and celebrated Teelin's half-year Birthday with a half of an Angel Food Cake. We sang and let Monet blow out a half of a candle. Teelin didn't get any of the cake, strawberries or whipped cream. This treat was for Mommy, Daddy and Monet....we have all been working hard and are still adjusting to our new adorable family member and I thought we could all use a summery treat.

FRESH AIR

Teelin, Monet and I went outside today for a while and played in the melting snow. I know it will refreeze, but the 40+ degrees and vitamin D made us feel wonderful and energized. Teelin seemed to like the white stuff until he fell asleep in the stroller and gave Monet and I a chance to with her homemade slide dadda Doob made her.

Princess Birthday Party

Monet friend Catherine turns 2 tomorrow and we celebrated with her and her family and friends today with a Princess party. Teelin and the other boys admired the dresses wore by the little princesses at the party.

Cedar Waxwings

Today we were visited by some hungry birds that took roost in one of our trees out back. A flock of Cedar Waxwings sat in the tree only for a few frantic minutes eating what was left of some berries on the branches. They took off in a beautiful formation flying up stream along the river. It was beautiful.

Happy Birthday Dadda Doob

Teelin looked the part of Eagles fan with his gear on and Pete was doing his best to teach him the play by play!

Uncle Pete came up for Doob's birthday this weekend and both Monet and Teelin enjoyed his company! Monet and I made him a cake and notice the drool on Doob's shoulder and the front pack...he was holding Teeling prior to this picture.

The Nowlan brothers took Monet out in the snow for a while after snowblowing. Pete took a little bit of a digger, but nothing too bad for our Philly Dawg!

Painting with Monet

Add ImageHere are photos of two of the three paintings Monet completed yesterday. The lighting is lousy as the paintings are much fresher and more vibrant than a flashless photograph could capture.
Enjoy and Happy New Year,

New Years Eve studio visit

Ms. Monet came over to the studio today for a little painting session and created three masterworks which will be displayed here at a later date. (The staff photographer was unable to make it through the snow so all I had was my trusty Iphone which does not do justice to the Master's work)

(Above) - Monet posing with her "practice canvas". We used large swaths of cardboard to help her get her bearings with the larger brushes.
(Above) - The master carefully mixes her paints until the hue is just right.........
(Above) - Monet applies a wispy cloudy backdrop to what emerged as the painting: "Landscape with Monsters" (Monet's title for the piece)
(Above) - The Master in action. Monet applies the first brush strokes to a yet to be titled work.
