Mr. Sandman...

Today Doobie and I tested our marital strength by putting together Monet's new sandbox. I think we are still high on the compatibility scale and the sandbox is still standing!

Strawberry Fields

We finally got out to pick some strawberries this morning. I thought the fields would be all muddy and soggy after all the rain, but actually it was perfect! Monet and I picked several pounds and she ate enough to stain her face, hands, neck and shirt! I am surprised they don't make toddlers get on a scale before and after picking!!!

This is Monet's attempt at taking my photo...not too bad really.

Strawberry Shortcake.......

Heather and Monet made a killer Strawberry Shortcake the other night.......
"Dad - Can't you see I am busy? Clearly I am not in the mood to smile for a picture!"
                                                                     "Food fight!!!"

                                                                           GULP!

Fun at Nanna's & Jill's Shower

We were at Nanna's this weekend and took advantage of being so close to the lake. Monet enjoyed playing in the ankle deep water and watching the fish and frogs! Anut Kay Kay took us for a boat ride in the morning on Sunday, but it was a little TOO hot...even at 10am.
Monet loved Nanna and Pop-Pop's new toy! She wanted to drive it up the hill, but her legs were a few inches too short!
On Saturday we went to Jill's Bridal shower. It was such a lovely shower with great food and cake! Monet helped Jill open the present she brought for her. And then played with Louisa for the rest of the time. We lasted much longer then I had imagined.

FIVE YEARS!

Doobie and I celebrated five years of marriage this Saturday, May 31st. It was low key by many standards, but perfect for us. We planted a Japanese Maple tree in honor of the traditional gift of wood for five years. Some white dishes finally made it into our cupboards and we went out to dinner at Uncle Kevin's favorite Lui Lui's.

Notice here Monet's shirt is still pretty clean. You will see below that as the planting continued she got a little dirtier!
