New Years Eve studio visit

Ms. Monet came over to the studio today for a little painting session and created three masterworks which will be displayed here at a later date. (The staff photographer was unable to make it through the snow so all I had was my trusty Iphone which does not do justice to the Master's work)

(Above) - Monet posing with her "practice canvas". We used large swaths of cardboard to help her get her bearings with the larger brushes.
(Above) - The master carefully mixes her paints until the hue is just right.........
(Above) - Monet applies a wispy cloudy backdrop to what emerged as the painting: "Landscape with Monsters" (Monet's title for the piece)
(Above) - The Master in action. Monet applies the first brush strokes to a yet to be titled work.

The weather has really put a dent in some Holiday plans here in NH/VT. This past Saturday Monet was supposed to have been in a Christmas dance recital, but because of the snow and slippery roads it didn't happen. Hopefully in the spring there will be another opportunity for her to get on stage and wear a costume like she had hoped for.

Then on Sunday we had planned on gathering with family for a holiday brunch and gift exchanging, but another snow storm rolled into the Northeast and kept us all off the roads. We traveled down to Northwood in what seemed liked the only break in the weather in a 48 hour time frame and exchanged gifts with Mom and Ev and the Behner's. It was a fun day watching the snow accumulate out the windows and enjoying each other's company. We missed seeing everyone else, but look forward to getting together with them after Christmas.

A gift for Evan from Mom and us. Where will he display it??

Teelin enjoying his first Chritmas stocking. He is just reaching and playing with toys so it really is a fun new activity for him!!

Visit with Nanna and company

Monet, Teelin and I came down to Northwood on Tuesday to spend a little time with Katie, Louisa and Nanna. We had high hopes for making Christmas cookies and at the end of Wednesday only had five butter cookies to show for it. So we learned a few valuable lessons that we will put into use next time we decide to make cookies with toddlers and a newborn! One of them being "MAKE THE DOUGH AHEAD OF TIME!"

Here Nanna is loving on both Monet and Teelin at the same time!!

Michelle and Maria came over for a visit on Wednesday afternoon and Monet and I managed to squeeze into the fairy house with them for a photo. Maria was too enthralled with me making silly "look at the camera" comments to actually look at the camera ;)
Nanna was having just as much fun as Maria and Monet making the gingerbread house!!

Uncle Mike and Jocelyn also stopped by on Wednesday and got to meet Teelin for the first time!

Monet and Louisa did get the morning started off right by unwrapping the Hershey Kisses for the Peanut Butter Blossoms. Who says a few kisses with breakfast is a bad thing?!?!?
It took Monet and I until Thursday afternoon to get those kisses into the cookies...but the wait was worth it!!!

We did get to visit with Kevin as well, but I didn't seem to get any photos of him in the action. Sorry Uncle Kevvy!!!!!!
